Why is the cruise main light on?
The CRUISE CONTROL light on the instrument panel comes on to show the system is now activated. Cruise control allows you to maintain a set speed above 25 mph (40 km/h) without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal.
How do you activate cruise control?
To use Cruise Control, turn it on first by pressing the button on the end of the control stalk behind the lower right side of the steering wheel. The green cruise control icon will appear in the instrument display to show the system is ready. Then accelerate to the speed you want, and press the stalk down to set it.

Diagnosis: 1. burnt out spark plugs with very red deposit on electrode. Suspected dirty fuel. Replaced spark plugs. 2. Mass air flow sensor defective. Replaced. It drove OK for about 100km, then – Check engine and vehicle dynamics warning lights went on as well as cruise control light flashing. Mechanic cleared error codes.

This keeps you from using the cruise control when there is a problem. If there is a catalytic converter code then it may be a failure in the converter or an issue with an oxygen sensor.
What does the flashing Cruise Control icon mean?
Cel, flashing cruise control icon and awd icon came on and then disappeared two days later. Took it to the dealer… Computer error code P000b showed up… They replaced the oil control valve and bank 1 exhaust OSV…we’ll see if it that works.
