If the car has a star somewhere, it should be a Mercedes and it would have a chain instead of a belt (I’m not sure actually if a timing belt had been used on some engines but I’m not aware of any, this one would have a chain anyway). The chain too needs to be serviced although it would accept a lot more miles.
