Why did CoCo Keys close?
CoCo Key closed in August 2015 after it failed health code inspections. It failed to reopen, and the Clock Tower Resort, which had changed ownership several times, closed in November 2016, a month after a birthday party there turned deadly.

In July 2018, the facility was shut down by the health department for failing an inspection, but it reopened that October. Rapier said the operation has had its chances to operate a safe, healthy business, but the time has come for a change.
