The lift gate wiring harness in the Subaru Outback has a high failure rate. Specifically the wiring between the body and lift gate. These wires are subject to flexing and over time they will fail. The radio antenna is located in the lift gate rear window. If radio reception is lost, the wire to the antenna may have broken.
