Are there any warning lights on a 2012 Subaru Outback?
2012 Subaru 2.5i, alloy all-weather package. Added LED interior lighting, puddle lights, 19mm RSB Had the same thing on mine – bad gas cap seal. It is normal for all these lights to come on with a check engine light.
How often does a 2014 Subaru Legacy burn out?
2014 Subaru Legacy. Knowing how much of a PITA the low beams are to replace I converted to leds for both the low and high beams. So far I’ve had the drivers side low beam burn out twice. Just happened again today.
How long does a Subaru Outback bulb last?
Oops…sorry. 2000-2009 are two minutes, Yes, 2010-2014 are a PITA to reach. I’ve sold a lot of these OB/Legs, and bulb life is normally at least a couple of years each. Not sure why yours is shorter lifespan….
Can a Subaru bulb be replaced under the hood?
THYN, none of the Subaru bulbs are unusual, and are used by many other manufacturers. I think you’re just experiencing an age-related (6 yrs) replacement of many of them for the first time. Note that you can replace the right front low beam from under the hood, but the left side indeed requires access from under the fender liner.
What happens to OBDII code on Subaru Outback?
If the battery is disconnected to clean the terminals, any record of that code will be erased, and if there is a fault, it could take some time for the OBD to trigger the code once again. Most national chains can read your OBDII codes (check engine light) and check battery/atlernator voltage for free.
How many check engine light episodes have you had?
You have gone through multiple ‘check engine’ light episodes, have replaced multiple oxygen sensors, and are on your third or fourth catalytic converter. I had a 2004 Legacy wagon with 80,000 mi, and my friend (still) has a 2004 Outback. We both have had the same experiences, so these problems are certainly not isolated incidences.
What happens if your check engine light goes off?
It sends data to the vehicle’s computer, which uses it to regulate the mixture of air and fuel that enters the cylinders. An engine will keep running even if an O2 sensor needs to be replaced, but it will burn more fuel than usual. In the long run, a bad O2 sensor can damage components like the spark plugs and the catalytic converter.
