What causes a Subaru AWD to turn full lock?
Mine does it if it is turned full and on pavement and it is a 2009 XT atuo (4EAT) with VDC. Just wondering what year and type of transmission you have. It could be simply the clutches involved in the AWD engaging when turning at full lock.

If you have a Legacy with a 3.0-3.6L engine, the steps may differ slightly. Disconnect the battery. Remove the air intake scoop. Remove the alternator belt. Siphon off enough coolant from the radiator to give you some room to lift up the main coolant hose in order to reach the power steering pump.
