Why is my power seat not working on my Subaru?
The motor might work OK without any load but fail once you add 175 pounds or so. The passenger side power seat switch on mine is flaky as well. But only when trying to move the seat back. Moving forward works as it should, but to get the seat to move back I have to quickly and sharply move the switch to the back position.
Is the power seat on a Subaru recline?
Also, forgot to mention that other seat functions, works as it should, up, down, recline/etc. Passenger side power seat also works as it should. 1.)
How can I tell if my Subaru power forward is not working?
(We know the motor isn’t going to work.) Back-probe the motor connector wires to measure the voltage at the motor, between the blue and blue with white stripe wires, with the motor connected and power coming through the switch.
Why is my driver seat power forward not working?
Applied 12v to the blue and blue w/ white stripe (positive and negative leads) using my 12v battery from my motorcycle. So with all this, I concluded that the motor is in good working order. And should be getting 12v from when switched forward/back. And should be free and not hang up on anything. So it SHOULD move, BUT it DOES NOT.
When did I Buy my 2001 Subaru Legacy?
still gets over 20 mpg. seats get hard after 100,000 miles. bought this legacy new late 2001, 23K. Today it still looks as though it came from the factory. normal maintenance, oil n fliter, brakes and tires, wiper blades and battery, and the recommended belt change at 105,000 mi. if I ever need another car, I would buy another Subaru.

What kind of maintenance does a Subaru Legacy do?
Today it still looks as though it came from the factory. normal maintenance, oil n fliter, brakes and tires, wiper blades and battery, and the recommended belt change at 105,000 mi. if I ever need another car, I would buy another Subaru. I got a lemon, spent too much on it.
How can I find out if my front seat power is working?
Back-probe the motor connector wires to measure the voltage at the motor, between the blue and blue with white stripe wires, with the motor connected and power coming through the switch. I suspect that with the motor connected, and the seat switch set for forward or reverse, you might see only a small voltage.
Why is my power seat not moving forward?
A seat may be jammed if it cannot freely move in the forward or backward direction, but can only move in one direction, or simply works inconsistently. Your first step is to find out if your seat’s other components are working, by confirming that the fuse, the relay switch, and the circuit breaker are in good condition.

How can I get my back seat to move forward?
Moving forward works as it should, but to get the seat to move back I have to quickly and sharply move the switch to the back position. Sometimes doing a quick and hard front to back motion on the switch will get mine to work.
Why does the front seat fold forward in a Subaru?
Air bags in the side bolsters, the depth of the bolsters themselves, and that fact the passenger seat back does not have a hard surface but is soft fabric with a map pocket make having a seat that folds completely flat and not susceptible to damage not very workable.
Why does my power seat move forward but not back?
Check for power and ground to the motor while using the switch; if they are available upon command, then the motor is faulty and in need of replacement. However, since the motor moves the seat forward and only needs the voltage reversed to move the seat in reverse, I suspect the switch is faulty and will need to be replaced.
