I took my Renault Megane Scenic to a garage for a brake fault and the garage quoted £467 for the repair but now want £900 because whilst repairing the car they broke off a part at the connection with the gearbox, as they had to take the gearbox out to remove the part. Replaced belt still doing the same. Stripped out belt tensioner, the self lubricating bearings were dirty and binding. Cleaned bearings and shaft with solvent, lubricated with a small amount of silicone grease. Problem solved.
