Used a 12 point 16mm socket for the front bracket bolts, and a T… 50 (i think) torx for the front caliper pins. Going to need to get some new hardware next time. Gonna see if there are “normal” aftermarket replacements.

It will cost you $7.00 for a set of two, but they are a standard 3/4 bolt instead of that screwy torx bolt. We ended up replacing all of mine with the new style, and I am much happier with the new one’s.

Heat the hub up to 400*F to break the loctite and use a good torx bit in the bolt heads . I’ve used a heat gun on several occasions to heat the hub up . Make sure the size is correct as well. T-45 for the rear disk, T-40 for the front disk.

Do you replace Torx bolts with standard bolts?
BTW- The Chevy dealers replace the Torx bolts with the standard one’s also. Thanks for posting that. I was looking at the brakes on the truck and saw the torx head. Was wondering about just replacing them with a standard head. Torx are a pain. I have to pull 3 of them to replace wheel bearings in my car.
