Where is the power cable on a Holley ECU?
Looking at the front, this connector is at the far right side. The bottom position, Terminal “A” is the ground. The upper position, Terminal “B” is the positive terminal. Always use the fused power cable with the proper connectors supplied by Holley only. USB Communications Connector– Both the HP and Dominator ECU’s share the same USB connector.
Do you have to install USB drivers before connecting to ECU?
Before connecting the ECU to your PC, the correct USB drivers must be installed. Failure to install the drivers on your PC first may result in Windows assigning incorrect drivers. These drivers will not work with the ECU and are difficult to uninstall. After installation, consult PCLink G4+ Help (press F1) for instructions on connecting to the ECU.
How does a link G4 + connect to an ECU?
All Link G4+ ECUs are tuned and configured by our PCLink G4+ software package. Connection to the ECU is established through on-board USB. The latest version of PCLink G4+ can be downloaded from linkecu.com. Included with PCLink G4+ are the USB drivers for connecting to the ECU.

Where does the wire go in a Haltech ECU?
Connect your Haltech ECU to the terminated end and follow your wiring diagram for all the engine connections. Load your base map and you’re ready to go. Haltech’s Premium Wire-in Harness is 2.5m (8.2′) long and much like its Basic counterpart comes terminated at the ECU end and unterminated (flying lead) at the engine end.
Can a race car be wired to an ECU?
If you’re doing an engine swap or building a race car with one of the engines supported by our Terminated Engine Harness range, this is by far your easiest, most time-effective wiring solution. Each Terminated Engine Harness is made to suit a specific engine and comes terminated with ECU connectors at one end and all engine connectors at the other.
Are there ground and signal wires in ECU?
This is where things can start to get confusing for some people, because in our ECU wiring harness we also have “Ground” wires. We have battery ground wires and also separate signal ground wires. It’s all too easy to look at these wires and say: “OK, ground is ground, its just a loop back to the battery” but it’s not that simple.
How does grounding work on an ECU engine?
During cranking, a lot of current flows through the ground strap between the engine and the battery, so there’s a voltage drop between the engine and the battery. When you have multiple ground wires that connect between the same 2 points, the current is shared between the two alternate ground paths.
