Why does the p0335 crankshaft position sensor curse?
When you turn the truck off and try to turn it back on it turns over longer than normal then finally starts. When you put it in drive it shifts hard into drive. If you turn the truck off for about 5-10 mins and start it back again it runs fine for a couple days then starts shifting hard and dying on me. Again, no codes ever.

I bought another sensor (same part) for the passenger side (this is actually the CAMshaft sensor) to match the CRANKshaft sensor I already replaced at the back of the engine. I just drove 45 miles to work, and for the first time in a week, no stalling, no hesitation, no SES light, no codes.

How does the crankshaft position sensor work on a Nissan Maxima?
In this episode we’ll be testing the Crankshaft Position Sensor (POS) regarding trouble codes P0335 and P1336. The Crankshaft Position Sensor faces the gear teeth of the flywheel and detects the crankshaft position signal. The sensor sends voltage information to the ECM to detect crankshaft position. This was performed on a 1997 Nissan Maxima.
What is the code for camshaft positioning sensor malfunction?

The car became hard to start, had rough idle/run, no start for a long time if the engine is hot, or engine occasionally stalls/shuts off on the traffic light, which is very dangerous… Replacing Crankshaft Positioning Sensor fixed the problem.
