Why does the gas pedal not work on my Nissan Altima?
I have been experiencing recurring issues involving the gas pedal failing to work in my 2008 Nissan Altima. Whether on the highway, at a stop sign, or merging onto a highway the gas pedal will unexpectedly fail to accelerate the vehicle. I will press the pedal with absolute no acceleration from the vehicle.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle lost power and shifted into neutral independently. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to accelerate but increased in rpms . The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle.

I think mine might be the acceleration pedal sensor isn’t communicating properly with the ECM or the throttle position sensor. This theory is supported by the high rpm issue which might be the car going into “limp in mode” which is to allow the owner to drive the car to the nearest shop when accelerator issues occur.

Altima QR too. Good question…..if the motor was not revving up and the car won´t move, seems the TPS at the acc pedal assembly, is faulty..but the SES light should be on. This experience was with a friend’s car of mine…

Why does my Nissan Altima not accelerate when the light turns green?
Sometimes when a red light and when the light turns green i put my foot on gas pedal and car would not move for few seconds and then finally it would go. Sometimes i have to pull to the side and turn off and the car and restart so it reboots because the car does not accelarate normally at all no matter how many times i try to accelerate.

Every once and a while it has poor acceleration from stop and very occasionally it revs high rpm without shifting. I solve the high rpm issue by stopping, turning the car off and waiting 15 seconds before restarting.
