Why does my Nissan Pathfinder blower turn itself off?
A forum for the legendary Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4. My blower/heating system has developed a little glitch where it turns itself on and off while blowing air at any speed setting.
What should I do if my blower wont shut off?
If the blower stops with either of these steps, the problem is in the HVAC control module. However, if the blower continues to run at high speed with either of those tests, replace the blower motor control processor. Just as an FYI, the retail price of the blower motor control processor is $280.34.

Why is my blower motor constantly turning on and off?
Its not like it turns on or off for minutes at a time, its almost constantly switching on and off, it will switch on and then before it has time to even get to the full speed setting it would turn off again. The odd time it will work fine. Would this be a part starting to fail, or a wire connection problem you guys think?? Appreciate any help!

What happens when a blower motor relay wears out?
Without it, the AC system will not be able to circulate any heated or cooled air. The blower motor relay controls the current used to power the blower motor, and is subject to the constant on and off switching. Over time, it can eventually wear out.

Use Code DIYDISCOUNT. If the problem still exists when you replaced the resistor. The blower motor relay could be possibly bad. Relay is located at the fuse block on driver-side, remove plastic door on top of hood release latch. Switch relay with another relay and see if it works.
