Why is my Nissan Micra 53 reverse light not working?

Why is my Nissan Micra 53 reverse light not working?

A baffling problem with a car reverse light, Nissan micra 53 plate. The reverse light won’t come on when the reverse gear is selected, put a new bulb in and still no joy, had a look at the connections and everything seems fine. Anyone got a clue what the problem could be. How did you manage to look at the connection at both ends?

Why are the reverse lights not working on my Nissan?

SO…when I wired up the relay, I heard a small ‘tick’ like a fuse popping or relay turning on, and now I don’t have reverse lights. I have checked all the fuses under the dash and the fusebox under the hood. And the reverse bulbs are good. There is no specific ‘reverse light’ fuse.

Why does the reverse light on my Acura stop working?

Also ran across a couple of Honda/Acura forums that had the same problem including reverse tilt mirrors stopped working and it was the reverse switch. So I guess the next question, does anyone know where that bad boy is? I’m going to do some digging to see if I can find out and if I find out, I’ll post it here. Check out the FSM.

How can I check if my reverse light is working?

To check the reverse switch is working correctly, turn the ignition on and select reverse gear. Connect one side of the test lamp to earth and probe each terminal in turn. The switch should illuminate when each terminal is touched. One of the most common problems is a blown bulb.

Why are the reversing lights on my Polo not working?

I had a Polo that had reversing lights that didn’t work (due to the switch being dodgy) but it passed three MOTs. Reversing lights are not a testable item for the MOT test. The same applies to front fog lights; they don’t need to be working either. You could possibly get an Advisory to say they weren’t working, but that would be it.
