What kind of engine does a 06 G35 coupe have?

Following this adventure: I’m getting ready to put a new engine in my 06 G35 coupe, 6-speed manual (also with RAS, etc. but that shouldn’t matter.) I’m seeing different versions of the VQ35 engine available, called a VQ35 DE, VQ35 Rev-Up, and a VQ35 HR

Where is the Rev up engine on a Infiniti G35?

This is the back side of the engine, with the regular VQ35DE on the left and the “Rev-Up” on the right. The outside holes on the Rev-Up engine are for the sensors on the exhaust cams. The standard VQ35DE doesn’t need them.

What makes a G35 rev up motor different from a regular motor?

This information was derived several G35 forums as well as what’s available as parts through my favorite online parts retailer. One of the major things which is different about the “Rev-Up” motor is it has variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams, where the regular VQ35DE motor only has a phaser on the intake side.

Can you use the VQ35HR motor on a G35?

You definitely do not want to use the VQ35HR motor, as this engine is said to be about 80% new compared to the either of these. They all share the same bore and stroke, but the comparison kinda ends there.

When did the Infiniti G35 coupe 6MT come out?

UrielYairHernandez the RevUp came in the ’05 to ’07 G35 coupe 6MT, so if your car is an ’04 you have the non-RevUp 280-hp engine. Which is the preferred? Rev up or not and what does that even mean

Is the Infiniti G35 Z a good car?

I still miss my ’06 G35 coupe, since it provided a superb mix of luxury, style and performance. The Z is really the better choice for a pure track day car, but for a road car I highly recommend the G coupe since it has semi useable backseats that fold down, making it a surprisingly practical daily driver.

Nope, never had a single check engine light issue with any of the mods on the G35. Did you have to tune your car at all? Yes, the car was tuned. And without tune does the mods have any +hp? What tune did you do and is this the non-Revup engine? you mentioned using nonl-Revup plenum I have the none revup and want to find a place to do tune.

Which is better Infiniti G coupe or G coupe?

The Z is really the better choice for a pure track day car, but for a road car I highly recommend the G coupe since it has semi useable backseats that fold down, making it a surprisingly practical daily driver. Both have tons of aftermarket support and have been around long enough that there’s a strong knowledge base about what mods work best.
