You want to cut half way thru so you dont hit the hand warmer. Then pry up the grip on both sides of the cut and the grip will tear along your cut. If it does not tear, very lightly run the razor blade along your cut and it will. Then carefully remove the hand warmers.

Why are my snowest hand warmers not working?
Check where wires come off bars and go into the hood. Just below where bars mount to post. There is a sharp aluminum edge right there that rubs through wiring. Dealer noticed it on mine and fixed it.
