Once a certain temperature is reached then the relay closes and the fan is turned on. The system consists of a sensor, relay, 15 amp circuit breaker and fan. There are also controls in the ECU for the light and fuel considerations. Your fan should turn on long before your warning light comes on.
Can a Polaris Ranger be ridden in water?
NOW YOU CANNOT HAVE THE FAN ON ALL THE TIME IF YOU ARE RIDING IN WATER THAT WILL TOUCH THE FAN BLADES. I do not have any issue with this because I never put my machine in water that deep. Just thought I would pass this along. Only another negative is that your fan motor will probably wear out sooner/faster and then again it may last forever.

The ohm readings are in the manual, electrical section, cooling section. There is a spec for 68 and 212 degrees. If your ohm readings are close then the sensor is good. The fan is supposed to run all the time when the key is on if the sensor fails.

What’s the problem with my Polaris Sportsman 700?
2004 polaris sportsman 700, shuts off while riding. I have a 2004 700 carb that shut off while riding and then would start up 3-5 minutes later after many nights working on it Ifinally figured it out no help from any dealer. There are 2 circuit breakers under the front rack mine were very rusted, Replaced both never had the problem again.
