How does AWD work on a Polaris Ranger?

Have the switch in the off position on a hard surface and do a couple of tight circles in each direction, slow. I feel no resistance up front when the switch is off. Now do the same thing with the switch on. It feels on mine like the front two axels are locked.

Do you need a winch for rear wheel drive Polaris Ranger?

Slick trails are always alot more fun in 2 WD anyway and especially if you learned to drive in a rear wheel drive vehicle like most of us senior members. Buy a winch and use it instead of placing too much strain on your front differential and axel/CVs! i like the way you think!!!!!! Yep!

Are there any issues with the 2008 ranger XP 700?

I just bought a 2008 Ranger xp 700 with about 120 hours on it. I’ve taken it out a few times and it has 2 issues that I’m hoping you could help me out with- 1) It didn’t idle well when I bought it but wasn’t to big of a deal at the time. Now that I’m using it I find that I would like to fix that problem but not sure how.

What should my ohm Max be on my Polaris Ranger?

If you get much more than 0.1v, say 2-3 volts with the AWD energized, unplug the ECU and check the resistance between the (unplugged) terminal at the AWD connector and the AWD driver pin in the ECU connector. You should have a few tenths of an ohm max.
