How do you lock the ignition on a Harley Davidson?
Place the spring first and then make sure the knob is in the “lock” position. Flip your ignition lock over so you can see the underside. Insert your key and push in the lock button on the underside of the ignition. This locks the key into the switch.
How can I remove the ignition switch without the key?
Good luck. If I turn the bars all the way to the left and turn thr ignition switch all the way to the left and push up on the little tab under the switch I can remove it without the key being in their. Harley shop said they replaced the complete switch housing and the key housing but I can still remove it just like before. Any ideas whats wrong.

Trust me. Turn the lock to the accy. position, insert the key and turn it counter-clockwise past the unlock position until it stops, reach under the lock and depress the disconnect button with a finger and pull the lock straight up and out.
