What should motorcycle idle at?

Why does my V Star 1100 idle so high?
As I slow down at a stop light or sign, the RPM’s are staying way up there. If I rev the bike and push it forward even a few inches, it idles very high until I stop the bike. I was told that it may be a faulty speed sensor so I disconnected the speedo and it resolves that problem, but I can’t continue riding like that.
How to speed up idle time on a V Star 650?
Using the spray version down the throats (not too much) migh help speed the process up a bit. Draining the float bowls along the way wouldn’t hurt either. This also would be a good time to catch up on other routine maintenance……like plugs and air filter.

What’s the best choke for a V Star 650?
Berrymans B12 Chemtool and Gumout are good ones……..and are usually available at auto parts stores and WalMart…….for about 1/3 the price of the “miracle snake oil” product. Yes, the choke works as it should. It is always required when starting the bike cold.
