Is the vent line the same as the fuel line?
The vent line is 5/16 and it does follow the fuel line. The fuel tank vapour system does connect a specific way. Make sure you connect all lines to the right connection on the tube up in the trunk. Also make sure you have the appropriate fuel cap fitted.
Do you need vapour separator for fuel return line?
Vapour lock which occurs in the fuel feed line and venting vapour from the fuel tank are two different things although I have seen posts where people get them mixed up. I am going to say correct you do not need the vapour separator.
Where are the fuel return and vapor lines?
A fuel return and two lines to a vapor separator. then the separator line to the valve breather cover. Please let me know if this sounds like a good sound idea. I am not totally sure where to run the fuel return too.

How do you install a new fuel line?
Using hemostats, pull the new fuel line (from the inside of the fuel tank) through the mouth of the fuel tank (be careful not to pull the line completely out of the mounting hole); pull the line just far enough to install the plastic compression fitting.

How does a fuel return line work on a hot rod?
The fuel from the pump flowed out that line and none went back to the tank. I then made a fitting with jet in it an added it to the extended line. This time the fuel shot out the jet, the pressure held at 5 and the return line from the reg flowed fuel back to the tank.
How big of a return line do you need for a fuel pump?
I expect you could use a 5/16 return line. Bigger usually isn’t a problem. The restriction is in the pump itself, not the size of the line. Pist-n-Broke and scotty t like this. First hand experience: My SBC daily (old Blazer) has a return line. Fuel pump went out. Had a new one on the shelf without a return line fitting.
