Is there a spark in my CRF 250?

Is there a spark in my CRF 250?

It all went back together fine until I tried to kick it over…no spark. The only electrical related components that I touched during the rebuild was the stator, fly wheel and crankshaft position sensor. I measured the peak voltage for the stator and got 30V (not 100% confident on the accuracy of my meter/peak voltage adapter).

Can You unplug the TPS on a CRF250X?

Acceleration has never been linear on this bike, so the TPS may have been set wrong from the beginning. It runs about the same with the TPS unplugged. It’s the ignition control module that controls the throttle mapping, not the TPS. Unplugging the TPS entirely will do nothing.

Why does my CRF250R bike not start?

Valves being out of spec and/or sinking into the head are a common issue that will cause it to not start. As far as the no spark, make sure you are using a peak voltage meter to check it on this bike. This system spark so fast a normal meter will not pick up spark every time. In addition, this bike is just a really tough bike to crank.

What’s the throttle position on a CRF 250X?

Anyway, since new (2009 CRF-250X, bought new in 2011), the bike has had a very touchy throttle just off idle; it is like an on/off switch. If you are in first gear and coasting slowly giving no throttle, the slightest possible throttle increase causes the bike to pretty violently lurch forward.

Why does my 2002 CRF450R have no spark?

I’m going to revive this thread because I have the exact same problem with my 2002 CRF450R. I have no spark. I disconnected the kill switch; tried another (used) spark plug; tested the primary and secondary coil for continuity and resistance; made just a quick cursory inspection of the wiring harness and connectors.

How to test a stator CRF250R flywheel rotor?

Pull the case cover off and inspect the trigger area’s. Just to be sure there is no foreign material collected there. Even if it looks clean wipe your finger against it to check for metalic sludge, similar to what collects on the inner surface of the flywheel rotor from a motor that doesn’t see frequent oil changes.

What should throttle position sensor resistance be on CRF 250?

Resistance of the primary coil is somewhere around 0.1 ohm and secondary is 5.46 kOhm..normal. Throttle position sensor resistance is 4.64 kOhm which is standard. And thats about all there is to measure. So at the moment I’m hunting for a new stator. Anyone think I have missed anything? good shit. def. sounds like stator.
