I can a new stator for about $80 and a crank sensor for another $40, all from bikebandit.com or a used complete ignition for a 98 cr on ebay for $120. But its used and is, as is… I would go for the new stuff whenever electrical is concerned. well finally got a Haynes manual to at least test my ignition system w/ specs.

Well, the part numbers are different from the 86 to the 96 but the stator assembly and coils look identical in the parts diagram. The rotor looks different but I am sure that it would still fit inside or you can re-use your existing rotor if it isn’t worn out.

What to do when your engine has no spark?
Insert a spark plug tester into the plug boot and ground it on a piece of metal on the engine. Finally, Have someone crank the engine and watch for spark. Remove one of the coils from the spark plug. Use an extra spark plug. A spark plug tester. Or even a screwdriver in the end of the coil.

What should pulse Gen be on Honda cr80r?
I then tested the Pulse Generator and got 0 ohms. It says the Pulse gen should be between 150 – 240 ohms, so im thinking that’s my issue! (Never really heard of these going bad so…not sure ?) Now moving on to the coil, how can I test the coil, do i leave it attached to the bike, or should I remove it?
