OK GUYS – Just got back from local boat repair shop. Went to buy a new starter/kill switch combo. Turns out that ever since about 1995, The kill switch lanyard actually “turns off the key” when it is pulled off. The Older style would ground out the spark plugs. New style runs just fine without the lanyard attached.
