How to stop gas from blowing out of breather?
Do one at a time. On prime, open the drain screw. The needle should seat, stopping the flow of fuel beyond the float level spec (3mm below the bowl gasket IIRC, better look that up). Better check if there’s any fuel left in your tank, too. And switch it off prime when you’re done.
What did Sprague de camp write about liquid breathing?
Sprague de Camp’s 1938 short story “The Merman” hinges on an experimental process to make lungs function as gills, thus allowing a human being to “[&breathe&]” under [&water&]. Hal Clement’s 1973 novel Ocean on Top portrays a small underwater civilization living in a ‘bubble’ of oxygenated fluid denser than [&seawater&].
Why is gas coming out of the crankcase breather?
Click to expand… it is the crankcase breather. If it’s the crankcase breather, then your engine is full of fuel. You should absolutely not start your engine. Pull the oil filler cap and give it a sniff. Smell like fuel? Gulrock is right.
Why are S & S Shorty carbs air bleed # 13?
Since 2004 S&S shorty carbs have been fitted with an adjustable main jet air bleed (#13). Changing this jet to a larger size will delay the signal to the main jet, therefore aiding with high speed tuning as described in step 8. This also aides with tuning an engine that is fitted with an exhaust system that is not intended for high performance.

What kind of engine is blowing gas out of the CARB?
Not open for further replies. I have a Briggs model 407577 Type 0292 E1 21HP Intek V Twin engine that is blowing gas out of the carb and flooding the engine. The few times it has actually cranked gas flows out of the muffler and drowns the spark plugs.
