Where is the throttle wire on a 99 zr600?
Had this problem with my 99 ZR600 EFI and instead of cutting or bending the center prong I cut the wire going to the prong. It was the black/white on my sled. The connector is located right where the wires go down into the steering column. I cut the wire on the throttle side of the connector.
Why does my zr600 snowmobile bog out?
My sled is a 2001 zr600 EFI. I’ve been have a similar problem. Once I hit about 50 or 60 mph my sled bogs down and will not allow me to go any faster. Out of the pocket my sled runs fine, however if I squeeze the throttle all the way it will bog out at about 40 mph. I disconected the throttle switch and this problem continued. Any advice?
Can a ZR / ZL / Zrt be a bad CDI?
Not just the Z’s, ZL’s, ZR’s, and ZRT’s. to warrant it’s own thread. Before you decide you have a bad CDI, or a junk Stator. Perform these simple diagnostic test’s. 2= Jump the Brown to the Black, on the motor side of the plug. At this point if you have spark, you’ve eliminated the CDI, and Stator as being the problem.

No low end power till about 6000 rpms, than she goes. Ride for 15 min or so, than she dies. Can’t start for about 15-20min. Did a bunch of testing. Don’t think its fuel related. Any help would be great. Thanks My 96 AC 600 zrt was bogging down and running like shyte one year.

Idle surging can be caused due to other issues in the car, but if it happens in conjunction with other throttle position sensor symptoms, the culprit is often the TPS. The bike hasn’t been running to my knowledge for 4-5 months. Prior to my purchase the previous owner, a friend, said he cleaned the carbs. Basically, she’ll start up fine and idle around 1500-2000 rpm (full choke) but upon going to 1/2 choke or giving her any throttle, she dies.
