Is there a problem with the fuel pump on a mule?
The mule runs a while and then starves for fuel and quits. I have replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the tank, replaced the carb, replaced the fuel pump, replaced the relay and to no avail. The problem is intermittent but lately it has gotten progressively worse.
What to do when your mule runs out of gas?
Clear any rust or debris in the tank from the fuel intake tube. If the problem remains check the pump itself by bypassing the fuel pump relay. If that solves the problem, then check the relay to see if it is switching.
What do you do when you run out of fuel?
First you drain the air out of your fuel filter. Second you drain the air out of your high-pressure fuel pump. Third you drain the air out of your injectors. Fourth you crank the Engine until it builds up pressure then you continue to drain the air out of your injectors.
What happens when you run out of fuel in a diesel engine?
It’s not like running out of gas on your lawnmower. A little bit of air will cause the diesel engine not to start. First you need to make sure that there is enough fuel in your tank. The level of fuel must be higher than any of the fuel components like the injectors. and I’ll get a small percent of whatever you buy from them. Costs you nothing.
Why is my fuel pump not working on my Kawasaki 3010?
If the tank is full it will pull a vacuum quickly, and if the tank is half full it will take longer for the vacuum to form. When the vacuum forms the engine dies and won’t start until it sits for a while. Then the cycle repeats itself. I would check the cap just to eliminate it as a possible cause.

Why does the fuel pump run when the engine is not running?
The wire that runs from the ignitor to the fuel pump relay insures that the fuel pump only runs when the engine is running. This prevents fuel being pumped when the ignition switch is on but the engine isn’t running, it is a safety feature of Kawasaki. Thank you Okieduc104. You are correct about the ignitor wire.

Why does my fuel pump not connect to the spark plug?
I believe that the connection to spark plug that you are referring to is the connection between the fuel pump relay and the ignitor. This plays no part in the operation of the fuel pump. Otherwise, it seems you have covered most everything. I am not sure the fuel cap vent is causing your problem, but you didn’t mention having checked it.
Why is my fuel pump not working on my Kawasaki 3010 mule?
Has been hard to start since bought used several months ago, full choke had almost no effect, but finally cranked after 30-45 seconds of cranking. Once started, it seemed to run fine. Now, it won’t start at all. Pulled fuel line between filter and fuel pump, fuel flowed from tank. Pulled fuel line at carb, but no fuel when cranking.
Where is the fuel pump relay on a Kawasaki?
If that is good, then it is likely the relay or the igniter. Lift the seat out and follow the wiring harness, you will find the relay. Take a look at the parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com to get an idea of what you are looking for. These use a power lead from the igniter to the coil to power the pump relay.
