When did the Sportster clutch problem first start?

When to turn the clutch adjuster on a Harley Davidson?
When you are positive you are exactly at zero lash, no more no less, continue to turn the adjuster in 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. This will set the preload on the pressure with a bunch of miles on them. it, run the jamnut down and torque it to aprx 1 grunt (thats a technical term).
Is there a problem with the clutch on a Harley Davidson?
BT you turn adjuster IN until you feel drag, then back off a 1/2 to full turn. XL models, you turn the screw OUT till it seats, then in a 1/4 turn. Chain too tight. Usually just makes neutral hard to find. No…..if clutch was south, it would slip.

Why is my Clutch not working on my Harley Davidson?
I {Heart} Hookers. If the clutch grabs off the bars, and you have the proper end play in the cable, than the basket ISN’t adjusted correctly, or something is wrong with the ball/ramp assembly in the side cover. The ball/ramp isn’t throwing the actuator far enough to get the clutch to disengage.
Can a sport bike have a clutch problem?

Harley Clutch seems to not completely disengage. Any suggestions? If the steel plates are blue, they have been over heated and are no good. Would suggest replacing all steel and fiber plates. It would be more helpful if you told us your make and model. There are a few things that can cause a m/c to do what you described.

Clicks when trying to start does not engage. I have a Harley-Davidson 1999 sportster 1200. I get a hard fast clicking sound when trying to start. I Have put the battery on a charger and let it charge overnight. It still does the same thing. Is this a bad battery?
