How do you test a fuel pump on a Harley?
You screw on the test gauge, turn on the ignition and see if the system comes up to pressure when you hear the fuel pump run. Then start the bike and see if it maintains pressure. Should run somewhere around 58 to 60 psi. It’s not how fast you go, it’s how fast you get there!
Why won t my harley start?

Key fob battery was dead. Discovered that with a good battery in the fob when I turn ignition to on I can hear the fuel pump charging the system. When the fob is out of range everything works except the fuel pump. Hence the no start issue. Thank you a thousand times over. I spent Over two hours checking every electrical item I could.

On a fuel injected bike with the key ON, you should hear the fuel pump momentarily prime (high-pitched whine) once the run switch is positioned ON. Swap an accessory fuse wuth the ignition fuse and give it a whirl. also if I use a “power probe” and apply battery voltage to the fuel pump fuse the fuel pump does run. thanks nipplesurfer, I did try that yesterday.

No spark. Good fuel. The service dept. told me that the coil hardly goes bad. It might be the crankshaft sensor. I replaced it and it started.
