Where is the engine kill wire and still no spark?
Returned with weak/no spark and the magnet story of how they came off and were glued back on. This is where I am – replaced the magneto and still only 5V at primary while cranking. Engine is turning over at full speed and battery is completely charged. Where is the engine kill wire you are talking about?
Is the air gap on a magneto adjustable?
Air gap is a factor, yes, but the air gap is not adjustable on this unit. About the only way that the air gap could be too large would be if the magnet sheared (a layer came off), which would result in the magnet being too far from the magneto. Since the air gap is not adjustable, there is not published spec for it.
What to do when your engine has no spark?
Insert a spark plug tester into the plug boot and ground it on a piece of metal on the engine. Finally, Have someone crank the engine and watch for spark. Remove one of the coils from the spark plug. Use an extra spark plug. A spark plug tester. Or even a screwdriver in the end of the coil.
Where does the ground wire go in a magneto?
The magneto has a ground wire that is attacked to the mounting bolts, a wire going out of the magneto and attached to wiring harness, and another wire from the harness that attaches to a bottom connector on the magneto itself. I apologize if I angered you about Billy.

Inoperative retard contact point circuit. Inspect for faulty wiring, timing, or inoperative contact points. Correct as required. Non-impulse magneto not grounded while starter engaged. Inspect and correct as required.

Are there any problems with the magneto on an aircraft?
Incorrect external timing to engine. Consult engine manufacturer’s specification for ignition timing. Correct as required. Incorrect internal timing. Consult Champion Aerospace Manual L-1363, Section 7.11 for internal timing specifications. Correct as required. Point gap setting incorrect.
