What is an AWD system?
AWD is optimized for on-road use. It has the capability to send the engine’s power to all four tires all of the time. Many all-wheel-drive systems seamlessly shuffle torque between the front and rear tires as needed and automatically switch to two-wheel drive when appropriate to improve fuel economy.
Do you have front wheel drive or rear wheel drive?
If there is a rear differential, your vehicle incorporates rear-wheel drive into its design. If your vehicle has both front and rear drive axles, you have a four-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive design. If the engine is transversely mounted and you have front and rear drive axles, you have an all-wheel drive vehicle.
What to do if your 4 wheel drive won’t engage?
