How are the four wheels aligned on an electric steering system?
To steer correctly, all four wheels must be aligned in relationship to the thrust centerline of the vehicle. The steering gear is then aligned to the thrust centerline by adjusting individual toe angles on the front wheels. Since many electric steering systems aren’t field serviceable, they are usually replaced as a unit.

Can you use low power steering fluid on a Mercedes?
Avoid driving your Mercedes-Benz (C, S, SLK, CLK, M, E-Class) with low power steering fluid. It is better to use a generic Power Steering Fluid, than drive with very little power steering fluid in your power steering pump. You can also perform a power steering flush to replace all of the old fluid from the system.
