Is there a coolant level warning on my Mercedes?
Just after some help. In the last 2-3 months we have twice had a coolant level warning come up on the dash. Upon inspection, there does not appear to be any apparent leak anywhere. The coolant doesn’t also go excessively low, maybe a little but nothing that would initially alarm, maybe needing a few drops again.
Where is the coolant in a Mercedes Benz?
Lift off the engine cover and you will see the fuel filter. The housing it sits in is also a coolant tube for the thermostat feed. Where it meets the cylinder head is where it leaks. You will see a load of dry crusty coolant around the inlet manifold if its leaking. The EGR bypass unit is bolted to the inlet manifold by the vacuum tank.
Why does my C300 have a coolant problem?
My C300 2008 had this problem about 6 months ago and the service person said it might have been a bubble. It has been cold here and I’m wondering if it has to do with the cold weather. I don’t get it all the time but a few times over the last few days.
Can a Mercedes Benz W221 have coolant topped?
My W221 has never had coolant topped. I could understand “a bubble” on a new car but that should be it (assuming the car has not overheated and isn’t really old, which a W204 cannot be). Would be nice to know how much coolant has been added or if there is an issue with the level sensor.
What’s the normal coolant level in a Mercedes?
I have checked the radiator on a number of occasions and the level looks fine (i.e. full). At first I thought it was when the engine was increasing in temperature (getting up towards 95C), however over the last couple of weeks it’s started happening nearer to the usual 85C running temperature.
Is there a ” check coolant level LOW ” warning?
Anyway there does not appear to be separate “check coolant” and “coolant level low” warnings, it is an on/off type of sensor but the low coolant issue is not sever as long as the engine temperature is fine, that is why it only reads “check engine”. I got the same warning message last week.

Is there a low coolant alarm on my C300?
I have a 2011 C300 and was getting the same “Low Coolant Level” alarm 1x/ year for a couple of years. I now have a slight water pump leak out of the weep hole. Just got done draining and changing the water pump and noticed oil in the coolant.
