How do you manually open a Mazda 3?
Press the electric trunk lid opener on the trunk lid, then raise the trunk lid when the latch releases. When opening the trunk lid with the doors locked, it may require a few seconds for the trunk lid latch to release after the electric trunk lid opener is pressed.
Is the Mazda 3 sport out of warranty?
I have a Mazda 3 Sport that is 9 months out of warranty (mileage only 25000) with the same problem – the DSC warning light stays on. I have taken it to the dealer in Cheltenham and have been quoted £1500 to fix. I am not at all happy with this. Mazda have now agreed to contribute 25% but I do not feel this is good enough.
Is there a recall on the Mazda 3?
Mazda seems to have a recall on the same part for Mazda 3 2009 model, is there a way we can get Mazda to accept a complete recall and replace every car irrespective of year of manufacture? Sorry to have to tell you but the Sale of Goods Act 1979 does not apply to Mazda in this case.

Under the consumer rights act it states that ”a product must last a reasonable amount of time” and although undefined, the car should not need a repair costing £1700 after just 3 years and 2 months use.

My Mazda3 2.0 Sport (06) is just a couple of months out of warranty and…surprise surprise…. the DSC light is now permanently on. I’ve spoken to the dealership and they said that Mazda ‘may’ contribute; dependant on service history, mileage (just 18k) and for some reason the number of owners (????).
