Why does my Mazda 3 battery keep draining?
Test the current on the battery lead, while pulling fuses. See what fuse makes the amp draw go to zero. I just checked a few Mazda forums, and there were a few threads covering a battery drain issue related to problems with the trunk latch and trunk light on the 2007 – 2010 Mazda 3. The latch feels closed, but the light stays on.
Can a AGM battery be used in a Mazda 3?
He told me that if my car original battery is AGM then you have to go with an AGM battery cause the charging voltage is different. The AGM battery will be much expensive. @tarahumara Thanks for great info. I’ve also read that the savings that come from the i-stop system are so minimal, like approx. ~ 25KM per 10,000 KM (according to this guy ).
What to do if your Mazda 3 won’t start?
A more “sophisticated” approach to diagnosing this is, the next time you have a no start condition use a voltmeter to check for full battery voltage at the starter motor, while the key is held in the start position of course.

When does a car battery start to drain?
Any time the car sits for more than about 12 hours without being driven, the battery is likely to be completely dead, to the degree that the power locks won’t even work. If I get a boost or put it on a trickle charger, the car drives fine once it starts.
