Help!! i had the EXACT issue with my car a few months back. The radio would turn on and off, power steering would randomly turn off, and the ABS alert would come on as well. the only way to resolve this would be to turn the car off and restart…everything would go back to normal for days.
Why does the radio fade in and out?
If I listen to a cd it will play normal, but when I tune to a local station, the sound will be strong, then you can hear what sounds like a speaker coming in and out. It’s weird. Only with radio though, not with cds.

What to do when your car radio goes out?
I scraped off the accumulated Zinc from the terminals and used a cheap-o AutoZone batter post cleaner to scrape the post and terminal shiny clean. I then coated the terminals with petroleum jelly. Total elapsed time, 4 minutes. The problem hasn’t happened for 2 months. .
