I had the same issue with my 2013 Kia Forte Ex. Randomly this summer it’s not starting just click click click. One hot day while stranded I came across a thread somewhere that suggested I try putting the car in n and then cranking. IT HAS WORKED EVERY TIME NO HESITATION.

How often should ignigtion coils be replaced on Kia Rios?
I have had to change THREE of the engine coils. Luckily it’s all under warranty so it costs me nothing but time and aggravation at the dealer. The dealer said that usually all four have be replaced and then it should be fine and it is A fairly common problem with Kia Rios. They also said they usually go out every six-ish months.
