Is there a way to open the liftgate?
There is no way to manually unlock or open the liftgate from inside or outside the vehicle. The lift gate actuator stopped working. We are unable to open the liftgate by using the fob or unlock button on the driver/passenger door.

What was the problem with the power liftgate?
While driving in the rain at an unknown speed, the power liftgate failed. The contact stated that the liftgate would not close. When manually closed, the lock would not engage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The contact was informed that the power liftgate control module needed to be replaced.
I can still open the liftgate using the key fob or the interior button on the dash. Pressing the button on the outside handle does nothing. Haven’t found anything to speak of on the internet so far. Hoping someone can help. On my 2016 there is an option in the left hand computer under vehicle settings to disable the button.
