Why is the drivers door on my Kia not opening?

Hi Went out to car this morning and my drivers door wont open, thought it was because of the ice, had to get in through the passenger side and then tried opening the drivers door from inside whilst pushing but it still wouldnt open, oh well lock frozen, went to work all day , tried to get in the car and still wont open.
