Mileage 68000 – ticking noise began approximately 5 days before the engine failure. The vehicle was then parked for two days (for the holiday). Two days later, while driving the vehicle, the check engine light came on. Took to mechanic and ran code and performed an oil change.

The car started knocking on a cold day when driving on the highways. At first it felt like ticking noise. It sounded like a valve ticking. However, the noise was not coming from the cylinder head, the knock was more towards the engine block but definitely not the crankshaft. We removed the oil pan and we discovered aluminum in the pan.
